Who Are We?
Since 2005, Breakthrough Recovery Outreach, LLC (BRO) has served individuals and families throughout metro Atlanta and abroad. We are a state-licensed, CARF accredited, ASAM Level III, quality substance abuse recovery program.
Breakthrough Partnerships
In 2014, BRO began a partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) providing comprehensive, community-based mental health services designed for adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring substance use disorders.
Notable Accomplishments; Many of our participants are truly thriving. They have secured permanent housing, sustained long-term sobriety, and achieved gainful employment. Many are engaged in educational programs and remain active members of the 12-step community. Several have even become Certified Peer Specialists, using their lived experience to build meaningful, supportive connections with others on their recovery journey.
In 2023, BRO began a partnership with the Department of Family and Children Services to continue its provision of healing and restoration services with families, children, and adolescents with evidence-based interventions.
Breakthrough Team Approach
The professionals at Breakthrough Recovery Outreach believe that long-term recovery results from addressing problems in the whole individual and that wellness needs to occur in the whole person – mind, body and spirit. This belief and dedication to wellness is evidenced in our programming of a holistic, systems approach to recovery coupled with our traditional 12-Step approach.
At BRO, because we understand that each client is unique in their addiction and their road to recovery is uniquely different, we tailor our recovery programs to the individual needs of each client. At BRO, a team of highly qualified, licensed, and compassionate professionals with formal education, specialty training and certifications, and deep experience in the field of recovery are committed to meeting our clients where they are in their addiction.
We are dedicated to helping our clients acquire and maintain sobriety by relearning positive, sober behavior patterns and life skills while reclaiming the joy and meaning in their lives stolen by addiction. We believe each human is worthy of recovery and deserves freedom from the disease of addiction and unmanaged mental health disorders.

Story Spotlight
A young girl began weekly therapy sessions with BRO, arriving withdrawn and unable to engage with anyone. Over time, with consistent support from the BRO Team—and the warm, steady presence of our Owner and CEO, Mr. Jacobs, who showed her genuine care and concern—her walls slowly began to soften.
After several months, something remarkable happened: she opened up. Her personality blossomed, and the once-quiet little girl “came alive.”
Her foster parents have since adopted her, and today she is truly thriving. As a touching sign of her progress, she crafted a handmade Christmas card and left it on Mr. Jacobs’ desk, expressing how much she loved the program and that she had “the best Christmas ever.”
