STRUCTURED HOUSING
Our Supportive Housing is designed for individuals in need of housing while they participate in our programs and who are fully committed to maintaining the path of sobriety. Individuals are expected to be productively engaged in our NIOP, SAIOP, or Peer Support Program while adhering to Breakthrough’s Structured Housing policies and expectations regarding curfew and community housing rules and regulations. In addition, individuals are expected to attend 12-Step meetings, submit to random drug screens, and have a 12-Step sponsor.
The Structured Housing at Breakthrough Recovery Outreach provides a safe, supportive, structured housing environment within a sober community while having the freedom and flexibility to continue transitioning to fully independent living. Accountability and transparency are fostered and monitored through random drug screens, regular connection with a licensed therapist, and a 12-step sponsor.
🔴 RED PHASE:
(DAY 1 – DAY 90* MINIMUM)
Initially, the RED PHASE is a period of “settling in” to the Recovery Residence, becoming oriented to the rules and expectations of the residence, and becoming acquainted with fellow community members. Then, it is time to focus on your sobriety and mental health by acquiring skills, tools, a sober network, and support systems necessary to maintain continued sobriety and mental wellness.
🟡 YELLOW PHASE:
(DAY 90* MINIMUM – DAY 180)
The YELLOW PHASE is a period of continued growth in both your recovery and personal growth. Sobriety remains paramount in your daily life and more attention is being paid to creating a balance in your emotional, spiritual, mental and physical self. Your recovery is being strengthened by being actively involved in the 12 Step program and increased self-confidence and self-worth continue to be primary targets as a result of dealing with your emotional, spiritual, physical and mental health. It is time to transition into more activities outside of the Structured Housing, with employment, school work or volunteerism while still having a safe and sober living environment.
🟢 GREEN PHASE:
(DAY 180 Days +)
The GREEN PHASE is a period where you are now integrating your new sober living skills into your daily life activities by using sponsors, family, friends and therapists. Personal independence is growing as you practice recovery in real life activities while still having a safe, home base that provides familiarity, support and community. While still in the infancy stage in your recovery, the GREEN PHASE allows continued recovery and personal growth. It helps to ensure further progress towards implementing a healthier lifestyle by becoming a balanced individual who has addressed their emotional, spiritual, mental and physical needs through continued sobriety and the skills you have obtained in your non-intensive treatment program.
